Le Songe du Cachemire became a reality when a feminine soul from the old port city of Quebec met with some descendants of a dynasty of noble merchants who, through the generations, transmitted and traded the fine craftworks and artifacts from the High Plateau of Kashmir and its mythical valley.
This valley often referred to, by ancient and contemporary travelers, as Shangri-La (earthly paradise) is probably the inspiration for these production of works of art and craft where the beauty of its environment is manifested thru carpet weaving, jewelry, silk embroidery and ultimately thru the Art of Pashmina.
This network of young merchants are aware of the necessity of preserving the know-how and cultivating outlets throughout the world in order to export these artifacts from Kashmir which are still diligently produced and beautifully hand-crafted.
Le Songe du Cachemire is one of these special outlets, offering a collection of gorgeous pashminas and exclusively designed hand-embroidered shawls as magnificent as they are unique.
Inside the Quebec boutique, amidst peace and quiet, along with the pashminas, you might find a fine rug, a coverlet, a tapestry, even a necklace or a tear of joy silk piece.
